||MakerBot 3D Printer
Access to the space is by reservation, either online, by phone, or in person. You may reserve the room for one or two hours. (3D printer users must submit requests for additional time to the library director or assistant director or the IT manager.)
A child must be in first grade or above to use the room. The minimum age for use of the 3D printer is 12 years old. All MakerSpace users must have a Mark Twain Library card.
The MakerSpace can be reserved for use whenever the Library is open, with the following caveats: when school is in session, adults have priority for use Monday-Friday from 10am - 2:30pm; children and teens have priority from 2:30pm to closing.
All tools and toys will be checked out to the library cardholder making the reservation, and that person will be held responsible for the careful use and return of each set of toys or tools. No more than 5 people may use the room at any one time.
Written instructions are provided for each set of toys. In addition, we will be instructing all of our student pages in the use of these items. Once trained, they will be available to assist you.
All individuals must complete library training on the 3D printer before using it independently. Patrons that wish to use the 3D printer must read our 3D printer policy and sign a waiver. A nominal fee may be charged for printer filament.
