A Mark Twain Library card will be issued to any Redding resident who demonstrates proof of residency in Redding. Children may apply for library cards when they turn five years old. Fill out the application below. After completing the application, we will contact you when your library card is ready. Please bring proof of Redding residency to the library to receive your library card. Children under the age of 16 must have a parent/guardian present to receive their library card.

Proof of Residency:

Acceptable proof of residency includes a Connecticut driver’s license showing your Redding address, property or rental documents, or a piece of mail delivered to your address in town.

Library Card Benefits:

  • All Library cards are FREE
  • Available to all Reddingites
  • Your MTL Library card can be used at ANY Connecticut library
  • Free access to all physical materials (books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, etc.)
  • Free access to all downloadable resources (audio books, ebooks, streaming videos, databases, etc.)
  • Museum passes
  • Can’t find it @ the MTL? Request it! We’ll get it from one of the 60 other libraries we share resources with and hold it for you for 5 days to pick up @ the MTL
