What is Wit and Wisdom?
Founded by trustee Norman Tanen the Wit and Wisdom Award honors the memory of Samuel Clemens known to all of us as Mark Twain. Twain was a highly creative and imaginative man who valued a good joke, good music and the arts. An independent thinker and a bit of a maverick too.
The Wit and Wisdom award is presented annually to a Joel Barlow High School junior or senior student. A $1000 prize is given to the winner to help to defray the cost of higher education.
