Founded by trustee Norman Tanen the Wit and Wisdom Award honors the memory of Samuel Clemens known to all of us as Mark Twain. Twain was a highly creative and imaginative man who valued a good joke, good music and the arts. An independent thinker and a bit of a maverick too.
The Wit and Wisdom award is presented annually to a high school junior or senior student. A $1000 prize is given to the winner to help to defray the cost of higher education.
