Mark Twain Library’s A Stone’s Throw series highlights the very best our area has to offer. We’ll meet up at the destinations, and participate in FREE specially arranged, small group tours.

Registration is required for each tour and space is limited.

KEELER TAVERN MUSEUM & HISTORY CENTER

LOCATION: 152 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT

ARRIVAL TIME: 10:45 a.m.

GATHERING SPOT: Park on site and gather at the front desk in the Administration building (the brick building next door to the Inn).

TOUR DURATION: Approximately 1 hour, plus additional time to explore the grounds. Tour participants will be divided into two groups.

Tour this 18th century inn that was owned by a fiery Patriot during the American Revolution (and get a close-up look of the British cannonball lodged in the shingles!)

During the specially curated tour, Meet the Residents, our guide will highlight the myriad experiences of people who lived, worked and visited there — from the colonial era to the early 20th century.

After the tour, visitors may browse the gift shop in the Visitor’s Center, explore the lovely walled garden or follow a self-guided tour of the Museum’s four-acre grounds.
