This program is for ALL AGES — Registration Required Below
Despite being one the smallest states, Connecticut has a huge diversity of bird species, especially during fall migration, as many birds make their way south for the winter.
Join us for an engaging program with Joe Attwater, a conservationist and educator with the Connecticut Audubon Society, as he shares tips on how to recognize local species by sight and sound. Plus, Joe will provide insight into the long and often perilous journeys birds take across continents and oceans, and how we can spot them during their migrations.
Learn how scientists study migration, why birds travel such astonishing distances, and what you can do to make your backyard a welcoming stopover.
PLAY AND WIN $50! As part of this special program, the Redding Tree Conservancy is holding a Bird Bingo Contest for kids and pre-teens. Cards will be available at the Mark Twain Library beginning September 19 with instructions on how to participate. The winner will be announced at the end of the virtual program on October 8th.

This program is presented in partnership with the Redding Tree Conservancy, dedicated to protecting, preserving and revitalizing Redding’s trees, forests and habitats to enrich the health and quality of life in our town.
Register below to receive a Zoom link on the day of the program. Include your cell for a text reminder.
