Get an overview of the emerging field of Generative AI with Rick Lawrence, a data scientist and expert in machine learning.
Rick will demonstrate some of ChatGPT’s remarkable capabilities — and some of its well-documented shortcomings.

Our Presenter
Rick Lawrence is a resident of Ridgefield and holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering. His career has evolved from nuclear science to machine learning to quantitative finance, and most recently, to COVID data science.
Rick worked in the nuclear science department at Schlumberger-Doll research facility in Ridgefield before joining IBM Research, where he held positions in management and research. He also served as president of PCIX, Inc., a venture-capital funded startup that utilized machine learning to understand public financial markets.
A competitive golfer, Rick has served on the Ridgefield COVID-19 Task Force since 2020.
