What happens when live, improvised music is played in a hospital room?

Join us as we explore that question with Redding native and JBHS graduate (Class of 2015) Melanie Ambler, founder of Musical Rounds, an organization dedicated to building awareness of the healing power of music.

Melanie, a professional cellist and physician, founded Musical Rounds in 2024 as a music and storytelling project soon after playing her cello for a trauma patient and witnessing the connection and comfort created by the music.

Hear Melanie’s story about the origin of Musical Rounds, and learn more about its mission and goals, including a new podcast.  Melanie will share recordings from bedside sessions and also play her cello live so that participants can hear the soothing music that has been played at so many bedsides.
