Poetry in the Wild: An Afternoon with Poet Sally Nacker (In-Person)

Celebrate the beauty of nature through poetry during this special program with Redding’s Sally Nacker, author of My Wild Yard.

Weather permitting, this program will be held outside on the Library’s Loggia. Surrounded by the nature that inspires her work, Sally will reflect on the solitude she finds in nature and her embrace of being a slow writer. She will also share how the town of Redding has deepened her sense of interconnectedness with the natural world and inspired her newest collection of poems.

A book sale and signing will follow the program.

About Our Author

Sally Nacker — Sally lives with her husband and two cats in a small house in the woods of Redding.  She holds an MFA in writing from Fairfield University, and is a former recipient of the CT Audubon Society’s Trail Wood Sanctuary Artist & Writer-in-Residence Program in Hampton, CT. Her work has appeared in many publications, including ONE ART: a journal of poetry, Third Wednesday, The Sunlight Press, Canary – A Literary Journal of the Environmental Crisis, and The Orchards Poetry Journal. Her prior poetry collections are entitled: Vireo, Night Snow, and Kindness in Winter. Sally said she feels a connection with the natural world in Redding, even in her own wild yard.
