The Connecticut Nutmeg Book Award invites students in grades 4-8 to read quality literature and to choose their favorite from a list of nominated titles. The “Nutmeg Nominees” are announced on May 1st. The following April, children statewide cast votes to select one Nutmeg Book Award winner in each division: Intermediate (grades 4-6) and  Middle School (grades 7-8) a. The winners are announced in mid-May.

The Nutmeg Nominees are great reads, especially over the summer! Teachers and librarians commonly discuss and share them throughout the school year.
