The Mark Twain Library is a public Association library, founded by Mark Twain himself as a gift to the Redding community. He insisted on a public/private partnership, and today that relationship remains. While the town of Redding provides an annual grant to cover a portion of the Library’s operating costs, the remainder is raised through our annual fundraisers, and through the generosity of our Library Friends through our Annual Appeal.
