The Museum Of Bad Art is a curated collection of interesting art found in thrift stores, yard sales, piles of roadside trash, and even donated by artists who realize something has gone wrong.
Founded as a joke in Boston, MA in 1994, the volunteer-run museum has become part of the cultural fabric of Boston and has received attention from around the world. The permanent galleries are in Boston MA and Quebec City, and MOBA has sent traveling exhibits as far as Santa Fe, Taiwan, Tokyo, and Quebec City.
Join us as Curator-in-Chief Michael Frank tells us more about MOBA’s mission, its growing influence and why these galleries are worth a visit!
About Our Presenter
As the Museum Of Bad Art Curator-in-Chief, Michael Frank is charged with scouting out pieces that best reflect the Museum’s mission. “We’re not mocking the artists, but rather the knitted eyebrows of the art-world criticism,” Frank explained in an article in Harvard Magazine.
