This fall join us for a special opportunity to learn about many of America’s favorite films.  This virtual two-part series on American films will be presented by Marc Lapadula, noted professor of film studies at Yale University, screenwriter, and producer.

This interactive session looks at four outstanding films that not only defined the provocative eras in which they were made but successfully transcended them. Even today, these classic works of cinema continue to cast a giant awe-inspiring shadow of influence over every artistic aspect of the filmmaking process. These films stand out as masterpieces for multiple reasons and we will pull back the curtain to expose the fascinating aspects of each one, revealing why all other films on their quest to be deemed “Great!” continue to be measured against them. The films: Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Some Like It Hot and The Godfather.  Participants will come away with an increased understanding of how to watch films critically and why these films are regarded as masterpieces of cinema.

The program will be hosted via Zoom.  Registered participants will receive an invitation on the day of the program. Include your cell phone number on the registration form and receive one text reminder, approximately 30 minutes before the program begins.
