Hiking in Redding’s 2000+ acres of beautiful open space and in surrounding communities provides benefits for all:

The Redding Community Hiking Club will be led by Redding Land Trust Trail Tenders who maintain Redding Land Trust preserved properties, and other community members who love the outdoors.
NOTE: All are welcome to join, but it is essential to register before attending due to limited parking at many sites and for group safety.
All hikes are classified by difficulty level. We plan to have hikes at varying levels of challenge.
EASY: Mainly level surfaces with limited small inclines.
MODERATE: Some elevation changes with a few steep sections.
DIFFICULT: Hiking experience recommended. Frequent elevation changes with many steep sections.
All hikers assume full responsibility for their personal safety and agree to hold harmless all hike organizers for this community event.

Norwalk River Valley Trail — Redding/Ridgefield/Norwalk
NOTE: This is an educational hike and is limited to 12 participants. Register early!
Parking/Gathering Location: Meet at Junction of Route 7 and Simpaug Turnpike. Park across the street from the ball field.
Start Time: Hike will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Arrive at least 10 minutes early.
Hike Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Hike Difficulty: Moderate
